This is the first treatment of an older (5+ years old) professional black, approximately 2 sq inch. The black will be removed very well but it will take several sessions. We did not use any numbing cream, just some ice. The patient reported pain level of 2 out of 10, so very tolerable pain.
We used the state-of-the-art Hoya Conbio C6 Medlite 1064nm laser to perform this treatment, the fastest and most powerful laser on the market, shooting twice as fast as its competing devices. This means quicker treatment time and less total number of treatments will be necessary. Underpowered and slower laser means you will need more treatments and the actual treatment time will be longer. Note that this entire treatment is completed in less than 1 minute.

Ken got this tattoo on his arm 3 years ago, and no longer feels that it is relevant to his life. He is having it faded down so that a new tattoo can be put over it.

About 13 years ago I made the stupid mistake of getting my ex’s name tattooed on my arm. I know…I was young and stupid. The name is small but the surrounding tattoo big (size of an apple) and ugly. I don’t want to cover it up I just want it gone! Has anyone had any past experiences with tattoo removal? I’m nervous because I hear it hurts. Also, how does it work, what does it usually cost and how long did it take?
I didn’t get any results on that google search ![]()
It depends on the color and how your skin reacts to it. Tattoo removal is expensive, painful and requires upwards of 5-10 treatments for full removal. Blue is the hardest pigment to remove, followed by green. If the tattoo is done in black, then chances are it will be easy to remove at first, but have a lingering ‘hue’ afterwards (since black is really just a dark dark blue or red).
To get a tattoo removed, they zap you with concentrated lasers. It feels similar to someone snapping a rubber band every few seconds (which can get tender very quickly).
As far as cost, it can run a couple thousand to get even a small tattoo fully removed (as it requires multiple treatments)
Does anyone know the approximate cost of a tattoo removal? I know it is based on the size, I want a part of my tattoo removed, it’s about 3×2. only and inch or so is solid black inc, the rest are lines and a little bit of shading.
It definitely depends on where you go, and how long the procedure is, but I’ve heard between $1,200-$2,000 dollars.
